About Sang Kee Noodle House

Located at 3549 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, Sang Kee Noodle House operates as a chinese restaurant serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under dim sum restaurant, restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Philadelphia; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (215) 387-8808. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, sangkeenoodlehouse.com.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place is phenomenal. Even while this place is so popular, they always manage to find space with providing ample space to walk. They service is also crazy fast; and you'd think that the food would be bad because of how fast the service is, but that is absolutely false--the food is delicious. I've done eat in and take-out and both services are fast and delicious. Though, I think the portions when you eat in are much bigger, but don't quote me. Anyways, go here if you're ever missing some authentic food with quality you can trust.

During our appointments at UPenn at various parts of the campus, we stopped here a couple times to eat. On this review, my son had the Pad Thai and I had the Japanese Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The wait staff was quick and attentive. They came several times to refill our drinks and check on the food and service. The portion sizes were large. I could not finish my main entree. It's in University City, so the area is pretty safe and lots of college students and medical staff (doctors, nurses, etc.) were in the restaurant. Overall, it's great menu, service and price for Philadelphia (any large city locale is always a bit higher in price, but they are reasonable).

For a place called noodle house the noodles were seriously bland. No flavor, no texture. The meat and shrimp in the soup was shrunken and lacked flavor. The dumpling in the soup was good but that is all i could recommend. There are so many better options for noodles in philadelphia. This is the house special noodle soup. Does it look special?

At first, I was skeptical about this place due to the reviews; however, I gave it a try. The food was decent for me, not as bad as described by reviews. Staff were okay, and service was fast enough.

We visited Sang Kee Noodle House for a birthday dinner and left feeling underwhelmed. It doesn’t measure up to Sang Kee Peking Duck House in Chinatown. The food here is just average, portions are smaller, and the prices are slightly higher. Service was lackluster. The only real advantage is that the location offers easier parking. Overall Ratings: Restaurant: 3/5 Service: 2/5 Food: 3/5 Parking: Street Parking (more convenient than Chinatown) Atmosphere: I liked the decor—clean, open, and modern—but the menu is quite limited. Unlike the Chinatown location, there’s no Peking duck on display, and the variety just isn't there. Service: Nothing notable. We ordered, they brought the food. The staff didn’t seem particularly attentive or engaged. Overall, the experience felt pretty forgettable. What We Ordered: -House Special Noodle: Just okay. The flavor was weak and didn’t stand out. -Braised Beef Flank Noodle: Also just okay. The broth lacked depth and had a strange aftertaste. Neither noodle dish came with wontons—you have to pay extra for those, along with other typical add-ons. It felt like everything that would normally be included came with an extra charge.
